The Berghaus Blencathra Jacket is a classically designed walking jacket, made from their AQ™2 fabric, which is breathable and waterproof, which makes it perfect for long days on the hill.
This outer jacket can be used as part of the Berghaus InterActive (IA) system and has zips that allow a Berghaus InterActive (IA) fleece to be zipped into it, to form an effective winter layering system.
The AQ™2 fabric technology is designed for high performance use on the hill and the spec of the Blencathra is usually seen on a much more expensive jacket.
The Blencathra benefits from a roll away hood with a volume adjuster, as well as hook and loop adjustable cuffs.
Multiple external zipped pockets and an internal zipped map pocket means organisation, wherever you are.
The jacket is an outer shell, with interactivity zips and attachment points, so if you require an extra layer of warmth you can zip in your Berghaus Spectrum fleece or Berghaus Polarplus fleece, and stay snug and comfortable.

the jacket is well made, taped seams and lightweight, its also a very long coat, it does not keep you warm so you will need a good fleece underneath, windproofing is minimal and its not going to keep you dry in a torrential downpour, it does well in moderate rain but as i found out on sunday after about 10 mins the arms started leaking so if your wanting a jacket for walking in the hills or wherever id avoid this one

After looking around for a new lightweight jacket I bought this one. It does what Berghaus say it will do. Super buy I am very pleased with it.

I had been looking out for a jacket like this and found it in the Edinburgh branch. Excellent jacket and can add fleece to it also. Recommended.
