Good for the cash, 02 July 2015

This rucksack is good for the £85 I spent on it. It the only poor thing about this bag is the divider at the bottom and I feel the bag has 2 design flaws
no.1 It gives you lots of straps to attatch things to the bag.
No.2 The Rain cover isn't big enough to cover the bag with items attached.
To be more accurate this rucksack should be rated at 70ltrs. There pounches on the side arn't as big as they claim...
Bottom line. I have a berghaus day packpack and it has stood the test of time and the outdoors. The only damage it has taken is that my ex gf's cat chewed the little chest strap.
The fabric is second to none and for the money spend traded off with the time it will last you and the function it provides.
You won't find a much better bag for the money. The small things like walking pole straps that arn't removable only really effect anal people.
I am chuffed with this purchase despite the downsides which along with the 2 design flaws (which aint that big a deal anyways) is the division inside the bag.
Who cares for 85 bucks. It is a bargain.
Good but not quite perfect.., 24 April 2015

The bag seems well thought out with nice features such as the numerous loops to attach items on the outside, such as those on the hip belt. I also like how adjustable the fit is and how quick and easy the system is.
However, I am a little disappointed at how berghaus seem to have neglected the simple things. For example, there is only one drawstring toggle at the main opening of the bag instead of the usual two, the ties for walking poles can only be removed if cut off, the hydration bladder pocket is only big enough for a 2L bladder, the hydration system hose can only exit on the right of the bag, the chest strap is ridiculously fiddly and the side pockets are hard to access because of the compression straps.
My main disappointment however is with the divider in the bottom of the bag. It is a piece of fabric which is held in place by two fabric straps. The design allows gear to pass the divider as the straps mean only a small triangle is effective.
But to end on a positive, the bag is made of good fabric, the waterproof cover is good (and can be removed) and if you can get it at £90 as I did using Go Outdoor's price match you will get your moneys worth (just about)
Great for DofE, 22 February 2015

This is a brilliant rucksack for DofE with lots of space to store all of your kit and for a great price. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is doing DofE at any level.
