Info
The
Berghaus RG1 Jacket (and the ladies' version, the
Berghaus Calisto Jacket) is a versatile jacket you can wear anywhere, with a hardwearing
waterproof, windproof and breathable nylon rip-stop outer layer
.
It's nice and light for it's level of protection, weighing in at an excellent
540g.
The RG1 Jacket has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent Treatment) applied to the fabric which is made from Berghaus’ own Aqua-Foil technical material.
The inner also has a mesh drop lining to help with breathability and moisture movement (see our Waterproof Buying Guide for more information).
The hood is large enough to fit a hat/helmet; ideal for climbing, walking or running, and it rolls away neatly into the collar when not required.
The Berghaus RG1 Jacket has two outer-zipped pockets which have hand-warming micro fleece lining to keep your hands toasty warm in those freezing springtime temperatures!
The reliable YKK front zip is protected by a double storm flap, found usually on higher specification hill-walking jackets, to keep the weather away from your undergarments. This combined with the drawcord hem allows you to be totally protected from the elements.
The Berghaus RG1 Jacket is a classic hill-walking jacket, great for any outdoors fun, at an outstanding GO Outdoors price.

Fantastic waterproof shell, 26 January 2010
By Ditch (Glasgow)
Bought this online, having seen it in Millets at £79.99, from GoOutdoors last summer at £54.99
Delighted with it, quality stitching and material, well designbed with velcro cuffs, a roll away hood and two zippable front pockets. Extremely waterproof and sheds dirt well too. Took it on a muddy bike ride in Scotland's famed summer conditions ( very wet !!) and it coped with all the bike could chuck at it.

Great jacket, 26 January 2010

This is my frst experience with a Berghaus outdoor jacket after mainly buying Northface jackets for the past few years, and I'm impressed! I find the jacket well fitted and comfortable. I have yet to see how it preforms in heavy rain but in the recent snow showers it didnt let in a drop! The hood fold away nicely also. I wear this with a micro fleece which I'd recommend doing as the jacket doesn't have insulation other that mesh. it'll be great as a summer as well as a winter jacket. The only thing that bothered me was the pocket zips, the only had small zips that were hard to open/close while wearing gloves but this is just a small issue

Simple but good, 26 January 2010

This is a fine jacket for the price. simple and free of gimmics but well made. It's unisulated so maybe not the best for activities in severe conditions but for more general use it fits the bill. An inside pocket might have been nice but this is just a minor gripe.
