Comfortable waterproof walking boots you can use as your everyday all-rounders.
Berghaus Expeditor AQ™ Ridge Walking Boots
are light, tough and flexible, but will give you the grip and support you need for light hiking or any general off-road wear.
Their full-grain leather uppers also incorporate DWR-treated mesh, making them comfy and breathable but still totally weatherproof.
You're kept totally dry on the inside thanks to their waterproof AQ™ membrane, and the cleverly designed OPTI-STUD® Hiking outsole means you won't slip on uneven terrain, or drag mud around on the soles of your feet.
They're the weatherproof boots that are comfortable enough to wear all day every day!
Berghaus Expeditor boots are now approved and recommended by the Duke of Edinburgh’s award. Having been rigorously and independently tested by DofE expedition teams and leaders, the Expeditor has been given the seal of approval and now features on the DofE recommended kit list.
Berghaus' OPTI-STUD lug techology is engineered to match your movements and pressure contact with the ground. Larger studs take the force of impact, while linked smaller studs prevent distortion and push into the ground, giving you grip, braking, traction and anti-clogging performance.

stitching fail after 9 months, 17 June 2016
Same as others ... stitching fail at the side of the toe caps after 9 months. And, same as others, leaked from the start. There seems to be a significant design failing in these boots, or a manufacturing problem.
Go Outdoors (Berwick) were/are great, friendly and helpful: the replacement boots from Berghaus came in just over a week. Whilst the boots are incredibly comfortable, the prospect of them failing again in another 9 months doesn't inspire confidence. My previous Berhaus boots (Explorer Ridge) also had a stitching failure so it seems to me that this company has somewhat lost it's way. 5 stars for Go Outdoors, zero for Berghaus boots though.

Decent pair of boots.., 16 April 2016

Got these boots for dog walking as well as spending a few days in dartmoor and instructing many DofE expeditions. I found no problem with these boots and never had any issues with the waterproofing of these shoes. They are also easy to clean as you can just give the leather a good wipe and spray the soles. Unless you're a seriously keen walker, these boots are perfect for exploring the countryside.
Like Others Have Said - Poor Quality Seams, 13 April 2016
By MrBluesky (East Midlands)
I bought mine in June last year (9 months ago)and they have never been 100% waterproof. Any area that is not leather leaks, despite applying regular waterproofing.
Now to add insult to injury, the seam where the fabric joins to the leather toe cap (the crease point when you bend your toes) has come undone. Hence they're gonna leak like a sieve next time it's wet. I've only used them for dog walking in fairly flat fields, so no heavy duty fell walking or anything.
Also, although they feel really comfortable when on, I always seem to have painful heels for a while after I've taken them off, so they must be causing pressure somewhere.
Unfortunately, I've lost my receipt from GO. I've contacted Berghaus to see if they will help.
Getting better!, 08 April 2016
By Anyafc (Blairgowrie)
My husband got two massive blisters on the back of his heels after the first outing . Second time, plasters in situ and the boots were much better. It wasn't raining so not sure about waterproofing as yet. Good grip on the sole . Watch this space!
