The Berghaus Longer Length Cornice provides a contemporary look that can adapt to the high street as well as the hills.
It's made from 2-layer GORE-TEX Performance Shell, so it's fully waterproof, windproof and very breathable, so it will keep you protected and comfortable even in a heavy downpour.
It's also interactive, so if you need extra warmth you can zip in a compatible Berghaus fleece such as the Berghaus Spectrum, and stay shielded from the cold and wet.
The standard design features that you would expect from Berghaus are present all over this jacket, with features like the stiffened, roll-away hood, the lined collar, easily accessible OS map pocket, elasticated waist and adjustable drawcords keeping you comfortable and making your days out on the trail much more tolerable.
And with it's longer length, it should ensure that taller walkers can be comfortable too.

Proper long coat to keep out the weather, 30 December 2011

This has just arrived so not had chance to try it out but I felt compelled to write my first impressions. In keeping with the Berghaus name it's very well manufactured, with some fine detailing. The fabric is lighter than I expected and I like Highland Green; good job really as it was the only colour available.
Size wise I went for the traditional XXL; being broad shouldered the XL is normally just that bit to tight and short sleeved. However the Berghaus is more than generous compared to other brands. Although being a long coat I think the XL might have restricted leg movement out on the hill, therefore I'm going to sick with the slightly baggy look (plenty of room for additional layers if required). This extra length is the one feature that impresses; I'm 6Ft 1" and the hem is almost halfway to the knees. Ideal for keeping you warm and dry out on the exposed moors.
Also impressed with the GoOutdoors service, speed of delivery and price match, which meant a good saving on the RRP.
Great Coat, 13 September 2011

I bought this for winter walking and so far, although not it's not been overly cold weather, have been caught in some heavy showers and gales strong enough to practically blow me over. I was out on the moors at the time and this coat made it pleasurable to be outdoors! Didn't feel a thing. Although I have to say that I did treat myself to the zip in fleece and was cosy as toast. The coat without the fleece is warm, waterproof and fully breathable, but in very cold weather would advise getting the fleece Can I also say, that Go Outdoors matched my price challenge without batting an eye and therefore made buying the fleece from them at a reasonable price a pleasure. I will be buying from them in the future! Well done GO OUTDOORS!

A nicely made jacket that shrugs off what you throw at it. I wear it with a Berghaus Activity fleece which makes it warm and cosy, if a little too tight round the neck. With two external thigh pockets and a map pocket you have to open the storm flap to access, It could also do with more pockets but I suppose that would mean more places to leak? Otherwise very pleased.
