OK but with a couple of flaws, 30 November 2016
By lightningad (oldham)
It fits great and is really comfy to wear. Its quite warm too.
However, its only partially successful with regards to windproofing - the body is windproofed, but berghaus seem to have forgottent to windproof the arms, so if you're walking on the hills and its very cold and windy you can expect your arms to freeze, which in turns lowers your temperature overall...not good for a windproof fleece!
Also - maybe it just my jacket, but several times the zip has burst open midway down when it zipped up. Its a very fine gauge zip and i just think its too lightweight for a jacket of this price.
Overall nice around town, but not one for the hills.
Update-very poor quality., 12 March 2015

Little update after a week of use. Unfortunatelly this fleece have a big flaw. Thread used is of very poor quality.
There is a stitch on the back of your neck, between the hood and back of the jacket stretching from shoulder to shoulder. If you grab each end of this stitch with two fingers and pull apart, you will hear the thread popping and the whole seam will start coming apart including the hanging loop. There is really minimal force required to do this and mine "popped" when I was looking behind me reversing a car.
For this price absolutely unacceptable...
Good product but check out all features., 02 March 2015

You are paying for two things:
1. Quality. This jacket have been very well made and the stitching/bonding is perfect.
2. Body mapping. It's made of two different types of fleece; the colour part is wind proof to the point where you cant blow through it, it really works when you walk against the wind (you can always unzip for ventilation). The dark areas are of thinner "standard" fleece which gives you awesome breathability under your arms and to your back.
It works very well under my osprey rucksack with air flow back, but I wouldn't wear it in town on it's own as you will get a chill on your back. Also I'm not big on the thumb loops and I would love the hood to be detachable. And finally Berghaus fixed the tight collar problem they had last season on all fleece jackets.
Overall great jacket for mountain and hill walking, just make shure you are ok with the fit and those extra features.
