The culmination of years of experience, the Berghaus Attrition II Jacket utilizes the performance of 3 Layer GORE-TEX Pro Shell fabric to deliver the best in breathability and waterproof protection.
A smooth faced plain weave nylon provides great abrasion resistance and water shedding, whilst reinforced textured nylon yarns offer added protection and durability on high wear areas.
Core body venting allows the wearer to effectively regulate their body temperature according to their exertion rate, and full helmet compatibility from the Raptor Hood maximizes head and face protection from the elements.
Further protection is possible from the internal gasket cuffs which provide an extra level of waterproofing when winter climbing, and a vented face-mask combines with an asymmetric front zip to offer shelter from extreme weather conditions whilst allowing you to breathe easily.
With safety being paramount, Berghaus have developed the DNA reflective print which appears on the hood and sleeves to alert others to your presence when visibility is poor.
Further features like the pocket under the storm flap (large enough to fit a climbing guide) and the internal water bottle holder (to keep water near to the body to combat freezing in extreme temperatures) make this jacket even more practical for battling the winter extremes.
Designed specifically for climbing and mountaineering, the Berghaus Attrition has an articulated cut to allow total, unrestricted freedom of movement, enabling it to work with the body to take full advantage of the great outdoors.

Fabulous and practical, 27 May 2011

I love this Jacket. I wasn't sure if I needed to spend this much on a coat but I have no regrets at all.
It's comfy, light, looks great, has plenty of storage, keeps me ever so dry and warm!
Overall, the jacket is very well made, as you'd expect from a high end Berghaus. My only issue, which stops me from giving it a 5* rating is that the venting zip pulls feel rather cheap and seem like an after thought as they do not match the quality of the rest of the jacket. A small thing but i feel worth mentioning.

Comfortable, high quality jacket, 17 April 2011

Having owned a Berghaus Mera Peak for many years I was looking to upgrade to a 3-layer Gore-Tex jacket. The Attrition fits the bill perfectly IMHO. Very comfortable to wear (although quite a close fit which some may find a little too close - ensure you try it on before buying) and close to 0.5kg lighter than my old jacket means it packs away to almost nothing.
An internal lightly padded collar and front face grill means it is much more comfortable on the neck and face than my old Mera Peak.
The pictures on the web site don't quite capture the yellow colour correctly. I wasn't sure about the colour until I received it - now I love it. Plus it'll be really bright when cycling.
Talking of which, cycling is something one can definitely use this jacket for as it is cut intentionally shorter than some others plus the hood can easily fit over a cycling helmet.
Would have rated it 5 stars but for one thing: the hood has no mechanism to pack away unlike some other Berghaus jackets. Not a big deal, but a shame none the less.
Overall: excellent.
