had 2 pairs of these boots in the past 18 months & both pairs have come apart between the leather & the fabric in exactly the same place

Coast to Coast no problem., 10 August 2011
By Actician (Kings Lynn)
I purchased these only a week before setting out on Wainwright's coast to coast walk, having been let down by another supplier, hence I was full of trepidation about new boots- long walk. I needen't have worried, these were comfortable straight out of the box, and gave me 200 miles of totally blister free bliss. Fully waterproof even in a total deluge on North York Moors (over 2inches of rain!) not a drop in the boots. They also cushioned my feet fantastically on the dull tarmac sections, whilst also being supportive in the hills.
Only two slight niggles; whilst the sole is extremly grippy this is at the expense of making it a little soft so they do show wear quite quickly, though not worn out by any means. Also they are quite hard on laces, need a new pair already.
This said I would thouroughly recommend these boots, brilliant performance, and at the sale price worth every penny.

I tend to prefer full leather boots being a bit of a traditionalist ( old some would say ) but they come at a price and tend to be heavy and need breaking in. Time to try something a bit different and despite their ultra modern styling liked the look of the Fugitive's. Second time on did a 25 mile coastal walk with no hint of a blister and despite no vibram sole, the Asolo version is well up to the job as a jaunt up Striding Edge and down Swirrel Edge in the wet proved. Can't fault them so far!
