Info
Rab's Ascent range of sleeping bags use Pertex® Microlight inner and outer fabric that is extremely durable and breathable, which will keep wind and water out, and keep the down in.
The Ascent 700 sleeping bag uses Fill power US650+ 80/20 goose down for an exceptional warmth to weight ratio, and they are hand-filled in Rab's factory in Derbyshire.
It boasts a wide foot area for extra comfort, and a 3/4 length YKK 5 coil main zip for easy access and ventilation.
The Pertex Microlight* outer shell and inner lining is ultra-light and very densely woven, holding the goose down fill in place without sacrificing breathability.
The Rab Ascent 700 sleeping bag comes with two storage sacks - a large cotton carry sack, and a Dry Bag compression stuff sack. This gives you the option of compacting the bag down to conserve space in your kit, or keeping it uncompressed for long term storage, to preserve the down.
* Pertex Microlight's dense weave prevents excessive heat loss through the fabric, actually making the sleeping bag warmer without adding weight. Using 33 decitex/30 denier yarns, it is both downproof and windproof, water-repellent and durable.

This bag is something else!, 06 February 2012

Honestly, this is about the best sleeping bag you can buy today without spending a fortune. It's warm (right down to -3 last week), comfortable and lightweight and the build quality is (as with all Rab stuff) fantastic. Filled in Derbyshire too, unusual as most, including the big famous brands, are filled in China. Only gripe as with all sleeping bags if you are going to camp in the snow get a decent thermal mat.
Brilliant job Rab, a fantastic product worthy of the full five stars.

Lightweight, extremely packable, warm, a great all-rounder, 23 August 2011

This bag is superb it is lightweight (for the comfort performance), extremely comfortable and packs down to a small size given the weight and fill of the bag. The shell and lining are superb and again very comfortable, and the large drawstring storage bag to prevent over compression is a great bonus.
I have not used the bag in cold weather yet, but cannot wait to test it, however I have just come back from the Cornish coast and it got down to 6 degrees on a couple of nights. I still slept with the zip undone and without the hood.
Fantastic all round bag for the price, I've used similar price range Marmot bags before and this is better.

Lightweight, comfortable and warm., 15 August 2011

This is superbly comfortable, I normally hate being confined in a 'mummy' sleeping bag but this is so light. It's quite bulky though and needs daily airing to 'fluff it up'. I wouldn't want to go back to a polyester one.
