Another Boost for Skiers as More Snow Expected

Those hoping to don their ski boots can expect more snow this week, which may help provide good conditions on the slopes over the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Office, there will be some light snow showers across the Cairngorms over the coming days, which could add to the snow cover at the Cairn Gorm, Lecht and Glen Sheer resorts.

However, the west highlands forecast is tipping snow in the region to fall north of the Great Glen, away from the Nevis Range and Glencoe sites.

Those taking ski equipment up to the Scottish highlands may wish to take advantage of the snow on offer, with all five resorts stating that they are expecting lifts and tows to be open today.

Cairn Gorm stated: "An inch or so of fresh powder overnight has pisted up well."

It revealed that the funicular railway is now up and running, having reported last week that it was having to be dug out after drifts.
