Poor quality, 17 October 2016
By john (milton keynes)
Got this bike early 2016. Ever since the first week the bike has had constant faults. The most annoying fault is that the pedals are so poor that they make a constant screeching noise. the brakes are poorly assembled and are faulty. the seat had a hole in it after 1 week. very disappointed.

I bought my gents compass on offer £109 and have to say if you spend £109 on a bike, well you get a bike that's worth £109. Cheap bikes have cheap components, and that's the reason they're cheap. The bottom set has completely fallen apart after 3 months, the gears dont engage properly and the brakes are trash. I'll ride it for another three months then get another one cos cycling avoids the station car park and also avoids the Tube in London so saves me lots of money. Financially it made a lot of sense, I just wish the manufacturers would spend a few extra pounds on the important components. Be warned and don't expect a top of the range bike. I'll give it 3 stars simply cos it's cheap.
you dont need to spend a fortune on a bike, 17 October 2015
By old cycle git (clydebank)
OK had this bike now for about 6 weeks. Had a good look round before i purchased a bike every website i visited said don't bother with cheap off the shelf bikes like this. I visited a couple of cycle shops all pointed me in the direction of £300 to £400 bikes. However i just wanted a bike to get me started and see if the cycling bug would bite.Well i have to say i am very satisfied with this bike for the money it is very good. I cycle 2 or 3 times a week between 6-10 miles on a variety of flat roads and steep hills. The bike has performed very well with no problems with gears brakes etc which every website said i would have?. I have to say i think a large reason for this is that it appears to have been set up properly by the technician at go outdoors in clydebank so thanks for that, virtual pat on the back for you. Couple of observations seat is very uncomfortable so by a gel cover, suspension is ok for a 100 quid bike but dont expect it to absorb everything, gears and brakes good gears particularly, anyone who knows clydebank i can cycle uphill from kilbowie road roundabout up to hardgate and up cochno road (steep)without getting my butt off the saddle ok it takes a bit of effort but gearing is good. Would i recommend this most definetly i would for the money it is a great buy .

I had a good look round and decided on this because I felt confident with the technician and with the company, most companies tried to sell me the next model up. It's due for the 6 week service and the gears do need adjustment, but this is normal when you first get a bike. It's very comfortable and looks good.

Very easy to assemble after. I had to supply my own Allen keys as the one they provided didn't fit but apart from that well worth it's money
