I don't think it's as good as my mates Outwell plug-in cooler; but I was too broke to stretch to that. Does it keep food cooler than a standard non-powered box? No.
But the benefit is in being able to re-charge the unit, allowing prolonged coolness. How many freezers do you come accross on camp sites to boost a frezer pack? It's a smart purchase.

We are fairly new to camping and gradually buy something new each time we go! Bought this when on offer, and it does the job quite nicely. Lid is a little akward for getting on and off - but otherwise, no complaints. We camp at weekends only, we plugged this is (switching off at night due to noise - which I imagine you would get with ALL powered cool boxes / fridges) and all items were still nicey chilled .... I think some people forget these only chill to a certain temperature below the outside temperature ... so they expect more from it than what it can do (if that makes sense!) I would recommend this and was very pleased with our purchase!!!
